JANSEN MUSIC, since 1926
Established by the Jansen family in 1926, Jansen Music has been serving Watsonville and Santa Cruz County for generations of musicians.
Take a look at the picture above, showing Al Jansen, and his son, Alfred Manley Jansen in the store in about 1936. At the time, the store was located at 320 Main Street.
In the forties, the store moved next to Ford's Department store, at 433 and 435 Main St, and in the early eighties, across the street to 446 Main St.
After the death of Manley Jansen, the store was purchased by Jose-Luis (Jody) Fonseca in 1986, survived the earthquake of '89, and moved to its current location in the Crossroads Shopping Center in 1993.
